I am now back from holiday and back at work. We managed to do a mix of family time and visiting new places. I saw some aunties and uncles I hadn't seen for 4 years. It was as always bitter sweet. As much as I love my life here, living abroad is hard and I hadn't realised how much I have missed seeing everyone. Although Covid still manage to prevent us from seeing everyone it was lovely. I discovered the Pilat which is not far from where I was born !! Leaving this time was really really hard and it feels like a little piece of me is always missing but at least I have made loads of memories. Anyway i don't think my stomach and liver could have coped with more food and wine.! 😂
I did something I had never done before as well and had an extra day off yesterday! And it made a huge difference! I am all caught up with messages and ready for a busy week.

These 2 groups were my last for this term. They have been an absolute pleasure and my highlight of the week. I will miss the babies and the mums of course.
Next baby massage and baby yoga classes will start again in September.
The classes are a good way to bond with your baby and meet new mums. It is of course beneficial for baby's routine, can help with colic and sleep patterns. It also develop their coordination and build up their strength.

THE EFFECTS OF STRESS ON MIND AND BODY
The pandemic had an impact on a lot of our lives: loss of loved ones, postponed operations and medical tests, money worries to name a few.
It is very common to hear people say “ I am really stressed” , “Work is so stressful at the moment” , I cannot/ don’t have the time to relax…..
Short term stress can help us to perform better for example before a sporting event or a job interview but chronic stress is not good for our physical and mental health.
When under stress, our body releases adrenaline (which increases our heart rate and blood pressure) and cortisol which increases glucose in our bloodstream. When the stress stops, the hormones return to a normal level.
However when the stress is permanent, the body is under an excess release of cortisol which is going to interfere with its normal functions: increase risk of diabetes type 2, weight gain, digestive problems, tense jaws, aches and pains, headaches, poor sleep, weakened immune system to name a few.
It also impacts our cognitive functions and emotions: anxiety, depression, loss of concentration, poor memory, anger…
The cortisol makes us crave more fatty food, sugar and a lot of people turn to alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes to “calm their nerves”.
However sugary snacks, fatty food, and alcohol will fuel the vicious circle of anxiety and will make our health worse.

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP
✅️Work on your sleep hygiene ( leave your phone downstairs and go to bed at regular hour)
✅️Make sure you get 5 portions ( ideally 10) of fruit and vegetables per day.Avoid eating at your desk and in front of TV.
✅️Drink plenty of water or herbal tea and avoid caffeine. You might find Epsom salts bath beneficial for your muscular tensions, Magnesium supplements and probiotics are also helpful.
✅️Make sure you think about your breathing.
✅️Exercise: it can be brisk walks, tai-chi, yoga, gym session or simply dance in your kitchen.
✅️Learn to say NO. It There are only so many plates that you can spin at thehe me time before you start breaking them.
✅️Spend less times on screens
✅️Talk to a friend or GP if you are struggling.
✅️ Try reflexology, massage, reiki

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the people who took the time to comment,.message, call and send cards.
I cannot believe that within the last week, i lost my dad ,did a round trip to France, said my goodbyes to him and have his ashes scattered. It seems unreal and I keep thinking I am going to wake up from a bad dream.
The girls have lost 2 grandads in 6 months and have been amazing. My husband Daniel has been a rock during these last 4 weeks which have been a rollercoaster of emotions.

I am now back giving treatments and will slowly work my way through all the cancelled appointments. Thank you for your patience.

WORLD SLEEP DAY 18th of March 2022
SLEEP is crucial to our health yet 1 in 3 people suffers with sleep problems. Regular poor sleep increases your chances of getting serious medical conditions such as obesity, coronary heart disease and diabetes – and it shortens your life expectancy.
Reflexology, aromatherapy, mindfulness can be beneficial for getting a better night sleep. But having a whole approach to your sleep routine is also important to have a lasting impact.
It is also important to look at your sleep environment:
1. Make sure that you have a comfortable mattress (consider changing after 10 years) and pillows.
2. Avoid watching TV in bed
3. Avoid having your phone, tablet and laptop in bed as the blue lights stimulate your brain.
4. Have a room which is not too hot.
5. Try to keep the same waking up times during weekdays and weekends.
6. Naps can be good but make sure that you do not nap for more than 30 minutes.
7. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and heavy meals in the evening.
8. Always consult your GP if you have any concerns.

WHAT IS BABY YOGA? This class is suitable for babi

WHAT IS BABY YOGA?
This class is suitable for babies aged 8 weeks to 10 months.
The class consists of massage strokes over the clothes and stretching and movements for your little one to discover their body and encourage coordination.
Some of the stretches are with nursery rhymes and some of them require sensory items.
We finish with relaxation activity and of course biscuits!
Next class will be starting on the 4th of March at 11:15 for 5 weeks.
Price is £35 to include a bag of sensory items.

I know January can sometimes be a difficult month for some people. Well if you need cheering up I recommend reading "wild and free" @zeppelinmoon . One of my clients ( who became a dear friend) got it for me and I loved it. I read it a few times and keep finding new details. 😂. She even brought it in a bag with a bear with flowers in his hair. I always put flowers in my smiley faces hair. 🌸🌸🌿. #feelingverylucky

A New Year is like a new chapter and a lot of peop

A New Year is like a new chapter and a lot of people plan resolutions. However only 16% are following them through with most people giving up during the first 6 weeks of the year.

How to make them work?

💫 First of all don't do it because your friends are doing it , but because you would like to make a few changes.

💫 The best way to start is by reflecting on the last year. Did you make resolutions last year? Did they work? Did you discover a new interest? Are there things you really enjoyed or hated doing this year?

💫 Keep the number of aspirations small.

💫 Make them SMART ( Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic and Time bound).
So for example instead of saying " I will spend less time on social media", Say I will spend one hour maximum on Instagram, Tik-Tok.... You can set time limits on your phone.

💫 Write them down and revisit them every 2 months for example. Life events might make you want to change things.

💫 Be accountable: Ask yourself why this will improve your life or you could tell a friend/ partner or a life coach to help you stay on target.

💫 Reward yourself: It does not need to be a huge reward, it could be a small bunch of flowers, your favourite walk, cook your favourite meal... Any small step should be celebrated.

Christmas is the season of giving but don't forget to look after number 1: that's you 😊

What is Self-compassion?

Self compassion is showing empathy, love and support to ourselves. A bit like having an inner caring and loving voice.

Why is it important?

We are usually harsher with ourselves than we would be with any friends or family. If we listen to our inner-critic, it usually makes us worse. Equally if you start listening to your compassionate inner voice, you will re-train your brain, build new pathways and in the long run it will help you coping better with pain, stress and anxiety.

The 3 pillars of self-compassion

1. Mindfulness
Your feelings, emotions, pains are all valid. By acknowledging them instead of ignoring them will send calming neurotransmitters to your limbic system ( the part of the brain involved in emotions, memories and stimulation)

2. Self- kindness
Treat yourself like you would treat a friend. If you would recommend asking for help, sleep, relax, have a break... apply this to yourself. This will help reducing your stress hormones and therefore make you calmer.

3. We are all human
According to Kristin Neff " Common humanity is the understanding that unpleasant feelings are part of the human experience, that suffering is universal. We are connected not only by the joys in our lives, but in our struggles, heartaches, and fears."
By working on our self-compassion we are developing further our compassion skills for others and also feeling less isolated.

THANK YOU for all the kind messages, cards, flowers. I am sorry that I have not replied to each of you individually but I am very grateful. The funeral went as well as possible. Anyone who knows my husband Daniel will know he is a kind ,family man and amazing cook just like his dad was!
I am now back in England but unfortunately contracted Covid along the way!!!
BUSINESS WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THE 19TH OF DECEMBER THE EARLIEST. If your appointment is affected I will let you know. I am ok but exhausted mentally and physically so will rebook as soon as I am able to.
Vouchers will be extended. Classes will be reimbursed.
